Membership

The Almaty International Women’s Club comprises members from diverse backgrounds who offer distinct perspectives and experiences. Our club aims to help newcomers settle into their new surroundings while also offering support and guidance to existing members. Whether you are a recent arrival or have been a member for a while, we look forward to seeing you at our next meeting!

We accept membership applications throughout the year. The membership year starts on October 1st and finishes on September 30th the following year.

Benefits

The AIWC is a great way to connect with other international and internationally-minded people in Almaty. We offer a variety of activities and events, a supportive international community and the opportunity to meet like minded folks to foster new friendships.

AIWC membership includes:

  • Being part of a welcoming network of around 160 international women and men who can help you navigate your new city with advice and recommendations. 
  • Access to all club activities such as Coffee Mornings, Evening Edition, Sundowners  and more. Explore our activities here. 
  • Access to annual events like Cocktail Party, Charity Gala, and special cultural events
  • Access to AIWC General Chat groups for support, local information exchange, and idea sharing.

Becoming A Member

If you want to become a member, our application process is as follows:

After receiving your Membership Application Form, the Membership Coordinator will review your  application. Once your application is approved you will receive a request for payment of your Membership Fee from our Membership Coordinator via email or WhatsApp. You need to pay the Membership Fee to complete the application process.  Once membership fees have been paid, you will be added to the General WhatsApp Chat, and be offered to join the events and activity chats.

If your application is not approved, you will be notified by the Membership Coordinator via email or WhatsApp.

Eligibility Requirements

Who may become a member of the AIWC?

Foreign-born:

  • All women foreign passport holders are invited to join AIWC
  • Our common language is English and thus a conversational level of English is expected

Local:

  • All Kazakhstani women passport holders married to expatriates are accepted
  • Kazakhstani women passport holders who have lived abroad more than one year, or
  • Current members who do not meet these requirements can continue to maintain their membership every year by registering each September, renewing their status. However, if a member allows their membership to lapse, then that member must meet these requirements to renew their membership status.
  • Minimum level of English is expected for communication purposes

Full Year Standard Membership

Standard Membership includes access to all events, activities, and WhatsApp groups

Beginning October 1 until September 30 of the following year (12 months)

Standard Membership includes access to all events, activities, and WhatsApp groups

Beginning February 1 until September 30 of that year (6 months)

25,000 KZT

Evening Membership includes access only to evening and weekend activities and events, and WhatsApp groups

Beginning October 1 until September 30 of the following year (12 months)

25,000 KZT

Full Year Membership Renewal

Standard Membership includes access to all events, activities, and WhatsApp groups

Beginning October 1 until September 30 of the following year (12 months)

MUST be paid before the beginning of the new membership year on October 1

VALID ONLY for current members

35,000 KZT

If not paid in time, the fee will be increased to the Full Year New Membership fee.
