Sundowners!

Thanks to Mad Murphy’s Almaty for having us for sundowner drinks last week!
We had a blast!

Nicole, Our Mountaineer!

Last week we took a break from regular coffee scheduling to learn about one of our members’s mountaineering experiences.
Earlier this year, Nicole summited Lenin Peak, the tallest mountain in neighbouring Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. We learned what it takes to be a mountaineer: the preparation, the risks, and the specific considerations when you’re a woman climbing a mountain!
It was a fabulous presentation, and we are all in awe.
Thanks Nicole!
Thanks also to the InterContinental Almaty for hosting us

Why have breakfast when you can have brunch?

Introducing Weekend Brunch, our newest social activity at the AIWC for members and their families.

Planned on a monthly basis, we’ll visit a variety of Almaty’s finest cafes. Sort of like Wednesday Coffee Mornings. But it’s Brunch, it’s on a weekend, and you can bring along your spouse and little ones

This weekend we visited @inside_cafe_almaty (thanks very much to the team!). Well done to our brunchers who got into the Halloween spirit and costumed up!

Feeling inspired by Kazakhstan’s July success at Wimbledon?

We certainly were!

Even as we relax our other regular activities we start up new ones, and so we introduce Monday Ping Ping/Table Tennis!

Congratulations to this week’s tournament champion, Lyutsiya!

Afiyet olsun! Bon appetite!

We were treated in early summer to a cooking masterclass by one of own, Ozlem, who showed us how to make a series of absolutely delicious Turkish dishes.

Never has a class tasted so good!
